Madison's Report

First off, sorry blog for being so neglectful.  I will really try to do better!

Today, Joaquin and I went to Madison's school to watch her first ever oral report.  She chose to do her report on Christa McAuliffe, and boy did it bring back some real memories.  I was right around Madison's age when I watched the space shuttle "Challenger" explode.  I was in Mrs. Leggett's 3rd grade room, sitting on the floor with everyone else, I even think Wendy was there in that room too.  There must have been a few class in there sitting on that floor, because we were all crammed in.  I remember being stunned and not fully understanding what I was seeing, and then realizing and becoming very sad.  I remember girls around me crying, I don't remember if I did.  Watching this launch again and talking to Madison about it really brought back how horrible I felt at that moment.

These Astronaut's and teacher are hero's who were trying to make a difference in the world.  It is a tragedy that was brought back to the surface and my heart hurts for those families.

Madison did a great job on her report.  Her principal Mrs. Woods graciously brought in her son's astronaut costume for Madison to use.  Thanks!  Madison looked so cute!  It was fun for me to see how well she did and how she didn't go too fast and looked up as she talked.  It would have been much different for an eight year old Amber, she was always so Horrified to do anything remotely close to being in front of a class.  I am proud of Madison, you go girl!!  Love you!
