"Mom hurry, hurry!!"

Yesterday, I was alarmed when Joaquin came running to me with the most intense expression on his face and the most intense tone in his voice saying, "Mom, hurry, hurry................there's an ako (ahh-ko) on your window!"  I asked him again and he said the same thing while motioning me to come with him.  On the front room window was this:
He was so excited about this "Ako!"  I told him it was called a "gecko" but he still can't say it right, and technically I am pretty sure it is some kind of lizard and not a gecko.  I told him it was probably a lizard not a gecko, so now he calls it a lizard.  Later that day we spotted one on his slide in the backyard and then Misty was trying to chase one through the sliding glass door window.  There everywhere, just like Hawaii, except not in the house.  I kinda miss those little guys, their clicking sound, but I DO NOT miss the poop!  Did you know that Windex does wonders on gecko poop?  Just thought I'd share that little tidbit with you all.  Here is the proud, cheesy-ing (I made that one up I think. Brooke can I even put that together?) little boy, what a ham!
So, Joaquin and I will continue to watch for our little friends, OUTSIDE though, and all the other fun bugs, OUTSIDE!  Oh yeah, the other day while I was weeding the flower bed, I showed him a worm.  He was interested but did not want to get too close.  He told me to put him back that he wanted to go home.  I asked him where his home was and he said, "In there, he wants to go home and see his mommy."  He was pointing at the dirt.  Fun times with Joaquin.  I finally taught him that the bugs outside are allowed to live, it's when they come in the house that mommy does not like.  I think he is having flashbacks from Hawaii and our cockroach little enemies.  About a month ago, I had a nightmare, and do know what it was about?  Cockroaches coming out from every little nook and cranny of this house.  I think the dream made me super anxious, and for about a week, I kept looking around thinking I was seeing movement.  Except it was different, because when I looked there was nothing, definitely not the case in Hawaii.  Anyways, enough for now.  More adventures with Joaquin to come, I am sure.  Till then!
