Blueberries and Missionaries

Friday, one of the hottest days we've had so far, I was so smart!  I decided to go blueberry picking with a friend, Tara, who had invited us.  The kids made it for about 25 minutes and then Aspen was breaking plates.   So, I told Lynne to take her to the car and put on the A/C.  Joaquin and Ezra(my friends little boy) followed them!  Madison and Andie (my friends daughter) took turns in the car as well.

Tara and I made it for the hour and a half or longer that it took to pick all those berries.  I picked one bucket full, which gave me a little over 6 lbs.  I now know why blueberries cost so much.  I paid a dollar a pound, which was great, but man I don't know if I can do that again.  Tara and I have decided, we will have to go in the morning this week.  Hopefully it won't be so bad.

My sacrifice with the blueberry picking was mostly for Todd, since blueberries are his favorite!
This is what I made him for our early Father's Day dessert yesterday.
Madison helped me with the lattice work on the crust.
It was YUMMY!
My first ever blueberry pie!
It was so good that Joaquin, Madison and the missionaries got up and danced.
Actually, Joaquin's tradition is to perform for the missionaries.  He'll dance and teach them all of his cool dance moves that he makes up.  Sometimes they even get to help him name them.  Or he'll do his amazing magic tricks, which consist of us closing our eyes while he hides in the closet, behind the couch, or my personal favorite, under the blanket.  If he can't see us.....we can't see him!  He is hilarious!  A real kick in the pants.  I think we all almost pee our pants every time!  This time the outfit and his jacket which he put the hood up on, and his mad/mean facial expressions, were the cause of all of our almost wet pants.

So, this time Elder Call and Elder Foster, not to name names or anything, got up and joined him.  He actually pointed to them and then the floor and told them that he needed someone with him.  I told the Elder's that I would not post this on YouTube until after their missions.  It was so funny!!
SHHHHH........no telling, here it is!
This isn't YouTube, and it's not like a ton of people read my blog anyway!
Ok, so the upload won't work.  Bummer!  Maybe it is too long, I don't know.  You'll have to take my word for it, it was hilarious!

Now that Todd has an IPhone, I will post movie clips of the kids.  I can't wait for you all to see how funny Joaquin is!  He actually sings while he plays and I can recognize the tune but I think he is putting his own words to them.  So funny!

It was a great Father's Day celebration, with yummy food and especially that pie,
awesome dancing and all around fun times together!
Oh, and Todd loved his new watch and cologne.
