It all started with this
then I got some Sudafed and Cepacol from the doctor.
But then this started
and this
and every time I cough it feels like
he is using his club on my head!
Maybe I need one of these
Might be handy, don't knock it!
Now I am dealing with this
I finally went to get the Anti-biotics today that I
told the doctor last week I would like to avoid taking. Stupid me!!
So hopefully tomorrow I might be feeling better.
Well, I finally have a referral to see an ENT
and hopefully will get this all figured out.
After five months I think they (the doctors) are getting the drift.
I think allergy shots are going to be the subject
of the next big conversation.
In the last five months I have been sick for at least one week
out of the month, with some kind of congestion.
I'm pretty sure the allergy meds. are not working anymore!
What do you think?
Relief PLEASE!!

LOVED it! What a fun post about a not-so-fun subject. :) My little boy has the same issues and will probably be getting the shots too. :(
Boo! I don't know what to tell you, other then Allyson used to use the black package of plain chapstick around her eyes to prevent them from watering and it seemed to work miracles. (It was purchased for this specific purpose before you think she was using it for her lips too.)
I've finally started having allergic reactions to some things in my late age. Nothing like what you or Allyson suffer, but enough to give me an idea of your agony. :/
So I've been getting allergy shots for about 12 years now. They help, but only so much. The other things I have done to keep my allergies at a very reasonable level (which is hard to do in the land of green flora and fauna) is to use a neti pot twice a day. It cleanses the sinus passageways and keeps them freer from particles that can aggravate the immune system.
In addition, there are dietary things that directly affect allergies. When I decreased my dairy intake my allergies and asthma decreased immensely. I still had them but they have decreased. But the biggest thing that I have done lately is to decrease my gluten intake by a lot. Gluten causes inflammation in the body, which when you have inflamed tissues due to allergic responses only increases the problem. In addition, the inflammatory pathways in the body are shared by some of the same pathways of depression (just a little side note I thought interesting). I have also lost more weight since greatly decreasing my gluten. I've been low gluten now for about 5 months, and on our anniversary I had some simply divine tasting mushroom ravioli, and although it was so very very tasty, I had one of the worst asthma attacks after that meal than I've had since childhood.
We should talk on the phone soon.
